Coronavirus An update for our customers

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic advances, we wanted to provide an update on the measures that we have taken to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our employees, customers and partners, as well as provide you with an update on how we are doing all that we can to support our customers and vital industries during this time.

 

Operations

In light of the Government’s announcements, Simply Beautiful Print is now operating with a skeleton crew of staff. The majority of the team have been furloughed to ensure they continue to receive a salary, whilst the drop in demand for print from the local business community, event customers and retailers has unsurprisingly dwindled. Our people are amazing and we have been determined to keep our Beautiful family together. We hope that we will be able to end the furlough early and get the entire team all back together soonest (we are already missing the banter, arguments about who’s turn it is to make coffee and our ritual of Gregg’s Friday Sausage Rolls!).

We would like to assure our customers that we still have the infrastructure and materials required to produce print and administrate orders during this quieter time. We have seen a rise in demand for printing labels for cleaning products and hand sanitizers and are available for the just-in-time production of any print or packaging projects needed for the critical industries such as food, pharmaceutical and healthcare. In addition, we have partnered with local freelancers so that we might be able to react quickly to fulfil any just-in-time surges during this otherwise quieter period. Home Working

To play our part in minimising the potential spread of the virus we have enabled all our office employees to work from home and our systems and processes have proven to work well. We wish to pass our thanks to Chalvington Group for their essential IT support . We feel confident that customers will not have noticed any difference in their service and feel that if required to again in the future, we would be able to easily transition from home working to office working and back again at any time. Beautiful is especially proud of the team and how everyone has pulled together during these challenging times. Whilst business is quieter many of the office team have been furloughed, however, home office set up’s have been left in place ready return to work when demand returns to normal and furloughs can be lifted. We anticipate that this might be when less stringent measures are in place for controlling the spread of the virus. In the meantime, phones, emails and enquiries are being answered and responded to in the usual timely fashion.

 

Production and Installations

In light of the Government’s announcements, production and installation teams have been given new health & safety guidelines in order to protect themselves, their colleagues and the general public.

  • Employees will continue to wash their hands on arrival and departure and before and after eating food. In addition, hands are to be washed immediately after signing or receiving any deliveries. Hands are to be washed for 20 seconds with soap and water. Tissues have been made available to dry hands and should be disposed of into pedal bins.
  • Employees in production will keep a 2m distance apart from each other at all times.
  • When working in production PEE such as gloves are available and may be worn. Shared surfaces, including keyboards, will be carefully disinfected regularly. The Managing Director will oversee the frequent cleaning printer and CNC surfaces.
  • Work vehicles will be regularly cleaned and disinfected. Due to the high traffic of people employees will wear gloves when filling up at petrol stations and dispose of them immediately.
  • The entrance door to the office and frequently used handles will be regularly disinfected.
  • Whenever possible during installations employees will respect the 2m distance between each other. Where if this is not practical they should try to keep as much distance as is physically possible during the install and must wear PPE. 
  • Installation teams will take sufficient hand washing and sanitising supplies with them and make use of them whilst working on site.
  • Employees will not report into work if they show any symptoms or inform management if they start to feel unwell during the day. In such cases, they should be sent home immediately and self-isolate according to government guidelines.
